A flock of birds collided with an American Airlines aircraft, shortly after takeoff.
American Airlines flight 4411 was departing for Fort Myers, Fla. when it encountered a birdstrike and had to divert to Washington Dulles. The E170 was able to land back safely.
None of the 56 passengers onboard the aircraft were injured.
The passengers will be taken to Florida on a standby aircraft from Reagan, and expected to arrive on Thursday, the 27th.
The plane was damaged, but the severity of the damage is not yet known, as an American Airlines spokesperson has said.
